Dr Frank Connon is a highly trained orthopaedic hip and knee surgeon with extensive Australian and International experience and published author on Surgical Approaches to the Hip. Dr Connon is the only surgeon on the Sunshine Coast with international fellowship training in the Direct Anterior Approach for Total Hip Replacement. He is also trained and accredited in performing Robotic Total Knee Replacements in appropriate patients. Dr Connon is regularly invited to present his work on hip and knee replacements at Australian and International meetings and often has Australian and International surgeons and trainees visiting the Sunshine Coast to learn his techniques.
Anthony is a highly experienced Nurse Practitioner who has worked for decades in nursing roles in both Australia and the United Kingdom. He has worked with Dr Connon in both the operating theatre and clinic since 2018. He holds a Master of Nurse Practitioner and is a qualified Perioperative Nurse Surgical Assistant.
Anthony has particular expertise and a vast wealth of experience performing injections and wound care. Having performed thousands of injections he is able to help you with injections of platelet rich plasma, hyaluronic acid or steroid if appropriate.
If you require surgery, Anthony will likely review your wound postoperatively to check that it is healing well.
Tess supports the team at Coastal Orthopaedic Surgery with clinical and systems support. She also works as a surgical assistant with Dr Frank Connon for some operating lists. Tess holds a Master of Medicine in Clinical Epidemiology and is a specialist GP (FRACGP). When not at Coastal Orthopaedic Surgery, you can find her at Tewantin Medical Centre and Coastal Skin and Laser.

Ashleigh has over 10 years of experience in the health care sector and loves living on the Sunshine Coast since moving from Toowoomba in 2019. Ashleigh enjoys spending her weekends with her husband and two young children outdoors making the most of the Sunshine Coast’s warm weather: going to the beach and watching their children play football or do gymnastics.
With over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Tracy’s drive and tenacity results in phenomenal customer service. With roles in medical reception, media, administration and coordination of educational events, she brings a multitude of skills to our team, aiming to ensure your patient journey is as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Originally from New Zealand, she has recently moved to the Sunshine Coast and looks forward to being be a friendly face for you at both the Birtinya and Noosa clinics.
Jo will put you at ease with her professional, friendly manner. Jo comes with 22 years experience in various community and allied health roles across Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. She holds a Masters degree in Social Work and was most recently working within the student wellbeing team at University of the Sunshine Coast. We are thrilled that she has been able to bring this expertise to Coastal Orthopaedic Surgery to assist you with every aspect of your care.
